Believing In the Ability to Transform:

When was the last time that you saw an old friend who had lost a ton of weight since the previous time you saw them? You see them one day in the grocery store and they look a certain way and then, maybe seven or eight months down the road, you see them again and they look like a totally different person. You think, “WOW! What a transformation! Never in a million years did I think that was possible!” We all then ask the same exact question every time this occurrence happens… “How did you do it?” We want to know what changed them. Was it the Keto diet or the Paleo diet? Did they hire a personal trainer or get the latest home gym gadget? Did they go to some monastery in the Himalayas where they fasted and meditated the fat away? We want to know how it happened.

The ability to embrace what’s possible starts with believing that the restrictions that you assign as ‘impossible’ are your own limitations. Your ability to get in shape doesn’t have anything to do with your friend’s ability to slim down. They might inspire you, but if you want to get healthier, you are going to have to do the work. In the same manner, your success doesn’t have anything to do with the mindset that they had to get into in order to achieve their results. You have to believe that it is possible for you to achieve the same results first. Everything starts with you. Once you believe in the possibility, then you put a plan in place to start working with. I’m sure if you asked your friend how they did it, they probably said, “I spent hours and hours in the gym and eating right” or “I did a specific diet and it was a struggle every day because I couldn’t eat what I wanted to.” Your thoughts of never thinking in a million years that it was possible were rivaled with their singular thought of believing change was achievable.

In our pressure washing business, we see change every day. We take concrete that has 50 years of dirt and filth on it and make it look new and fresh again. We take old, aged wood on a fence or deck and make it look alive again. We’ve heard “Never in a million years…” before. Change is possible, but not without hard work behind it. If you have been thinking of making a change in your life whether it concerns physical or emotional health, a career change, having a baby, or moving to a different city, believe that all of those things are possible first. Once you believe that, you’ve already put yourself on a path of success.
